We need your prayers for one of the youth ministry volunteers. Her name is Tanya G. We shared how she came to know the Lord in one of our newsletters last year. About a month ago her mom visited our church and the same day told Tanya to stop going to church and any activities connected to our ministry. Please pray that God intervenes into this situation!
Since she was forbidden to come to church, her parents have been constantly mocking her. Whatever she does they use against her asking if that is what she learned by attending our sect (as they view it). They pretty much planned her future for her and the church was not a part of it.
Tanya is a very committed believer and a great servant. You can read her testimony below:
“Since my childhood I knew God existed somewhere far away. I saw Him as someone who can fulfill my dreams. My mom and grandma always told me if I ask something of Him, I need to be ready to give something in return (behave well, for example). I would ask Him for things but received nothing. I would often get upset with God because he didn’t hear me. I didn’t know then that everything is going to be the way He planned for me, and He knew the best for me. I never read the Bible and never spent time with believers. I talked to God only when I needed something. I rarely thanked Him and didn’t understand that beautiful things He made for me daily.
I started getting to know God when I came to the summer English camp for the first time. My music teacher invited me (she attends Kishinev Bible Church) and I agreed right away. At the camp I liked the Bible studies and various stories from the Bible, but I couldn’t tell anyone about it. A year later I went to the camp again. I started spending more time with camp counselors. I was surprised that they paid attention to me. I could always talk to them about things that concerned me.
After attending the camp, I started coming to the youth meetings, and later I came to church. Every time I went to church I learned something new. I liked the people there and after each service I felt relieved. I started spending more time with the church leaders and one of them invited me to a girl’s Bible study. She told us how God has changed her life but at first it was hard for me to believe it.
One Sunday I came to church and the pastor said to know God personally I had to repent of my sins and trust Him completely. I did it that day. Soon I started noticing what God is doing in my life. I started studying His Word and my faith became stronger and stronger. When I found out I could serve Him in ministry, it brought joy to my heart.
When I came to church, my friends didn’t take it well. Some made fun of me, others just left me. But God gave me many wonderful people who are ready to be there for me. If someone told me a year ago that I would be going to church, play music and sing on the stage, I would have never believed them. But God gave me courage and now I understand why I have been taking the piano lessons for many years. God changed me and my life. I am thankful to Him for everything!
